Football:
How to Make Your Team Successful
A WebQuest for 9-12th Grade

Introduction
You are a member of a football program that is trying to win the championship. Your program is made up of the following:
Coaching Staff- in charge of preparing the team and figuring out the scheme to win games
Strength and Conditioning Coach- in charge of making the team stronger and maintaining the teams fitness as they progress through the season
Equipment Manager- in charge of issuing helmets, shoulder pads, leg pads and cleats
Players- skilled and able bodies that execute the plays and schemes the coaches have prepared for them to win
Those involved in the program must be knowledgeable of the schemes and plays and be able to work very well together to have a successful football season. This WebQuest will help your team stay prepared and focused on their goal to win the championship.
Task
You will use your computer skills to develop a “Team Portfolio” made up of different handbooks designed by each team member according to the roles below:
Coaching Staff:
Develop a coaching handbook that you will use to run team practices in a timely manner
Strength and Conditioning Coach:
Create workouts to develop and build muscle to make players stronger and faster and maintain fitness level
Equipment Manager:
Organize equipment handouts so they may be done in a timely manner and also during games be prepared to fix any broken equipment
Players:
Practice and execute schemes provided by the coaching staff, set goals to accomplish for games to insure victory
Process
You have been assigned to your teams and a role to play in the team. Follow the directions for your role and complete them. These directions will help make your team more successful in the football season.
Resources
As a team your resources are basic football equipment and the football field. The coaching staff will need to research and develop their schemes. The strength and conditioning coach will also research proper workout methods for football teams and develop their own variation of these workouts to make it adaptable to the team goals.
Conclusion
As a result of this WebQuest, you should have a resource to help you be effective in your role as part of the coaching staff, strength and conditioning coach, equipment manager, and player for your football team. You should use your resource to help yourself and the other members of your team to become competent and knowledgeable sportspersons.
